decluttering and organizing motivation

my partner and I were talking about decluttering and organizing the other day. I told him that since we live together, it has to be done by both of us, not just me.

He wants the place to be always tidy and clean, but doesn't even like to organize his own stuff. Honestly, I also don't like to declutter and organize sometimes

I wonder how to stay motivated to declutter when I feel stuck? And how to motivate my partner to organize his own stuff?

Need advice and insights from all the decluttering gurus out there. TIA!

Best way to go about this is to start with one tiny area so it doesn't feel overwhelming, even a drawer counts. As for your partner, try framing it as teamwork. :) It's both your space, so keeping it tidy should be a win for both of you. Do it with loooove. I get you it's so frustrating to clean up in tandem with someone who doesn't care. Hahaha.

I feel you right there. Decluttering can be a drag, especially when its on both of you, memories created by you two. Its tough, staying motivated usually means breaking it into small tasks and focusing on how much better the space will feel. Talking openly about how you both want the place to feel is important. Have you tried anything yet thats worked even a little?
